PMINYC's Certification Study Groups Program
Are you preparing to get your your PMP, PgMP or CAPM? Do you want to prepare with a group of highly-motivated fellow PMINYC members? Then, PMINYC's Study Groups Program may be just the thing for you!
What are PMP Study Groups?
Groups of motivated PMINYC members preparing together for their certification. Team members set their own goals and schedules, reinforce each other's knowledge and learning. Groups are advised and supported by experienced, certified PMINYC members. Long-term friendships and networking relationships develop.
Why participate in PMP study Groups
PMINYC's PMP Study groups provide a flexible, low cost (books only) alternative or addition to commercial prep courses. Structure and motivation is available when contracted to studying by one's self.
Do these groups also prepare for the CAPM and PgMP?
Yes. The CAPM exam is based on the same body of knowledge (PMBoK) the PMP exams, so the PMP study groups are right for you. We are also taking inquiries from people who would want to prepare together for the new and challenging PgMP certification.
We support you
When you participate in a study group, you have your materials and each other to support you, but you also have access to the program's "Experts on Call", experienced PMPs, CAPMs and PgMPs who stand by to answer your thorniest questions, be it content or test prep!
How to Study Groups Operate?

The Program offers the following volunteer opportunities:
Expert on Call
Certified PMINYC member who commits to take questions from group participants in content and/or test preparation areasPublicity Assistant
PMINYC member who commits to distribute program literature at Chapter events. May also give a 1 minute pitch for the program.Group Chair
Member of a new group who agrees to be the organizer and main contact person.Group Host
Person who offers a space for the group to meet.
Chapter Membership Required
Certification Study Groups are a benefit of PMI New York City Chapter membership.
