Maintaining the confidentiality of PMINYC chapter members’ and volunteers’ personal information is one of the Board of Directors highest priorities. The Board is committed to taking all appropriate measures to safeguard your personal information. This privacy policy is being established to document PMINYC’s absolute commitment to maintaining your privacy and protecting your personal information.
II. How We Protect You
WEB SITE - At our web site, no personal information is requested or collected from you except for event registration purposes. Our web site software does not read or write cookies to your computer. However, we may provide links to other web sites which do collect this information. The PMINYC City Chapter, Inc. bears no responsibility for data collection performed by web sites not under its control.
MEMBER INFORMATION - The Chapter receives updated personal information about its members on a monthly basis from PMI Global Operations center. We do NOT make member contact information available on this web site except as described below:
III. What you can doEMAIL TO MEMBERS - We will never share, sell, or rent individual personal information, unless ordered to do so by a court of law, and only upon advance notice. Information submitted to us is only available to PMINYC volunteers managing this information for purposes of contacting you or sending you emails based on your request for information and to contracted service providers for purposes of providing services relating to our communications with you. PMINYC will not send email to our members on behalf of any vendor.
- As a convenience to our web site users and Chapter members, we provide e-mail addresses for our Board of Directors and other volunteers, with their consent.
- Our news items and event notices may contain additional contact information for specified individuals, but this is provided only at their request or with their consent.
- For the purpose of networking, we do provide a member list on the website (which does NOT include contact information), but does include name, city, state, country, and company of our members.
- PMINYC carefully protects the security of the personal information you provide. Personal information we collect is stored on a secure network by PMINYC's IT services vendor on password-controlled servers with limited access, and we protect this information from loss or misuse, and from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
PMINYC is in the process of implementing software features allowing members to ‘opt-in’ and ‘opt-out’ of chapter emailing. Currently this can be done manually by sending an email to PMINYC webmaster Upon receipt of this request PMINYC will discontinue ALL emails to your address (its all or nothing until we implement the new software feature). We appreciate your understanding.
