At the April Chapter meeting my friend Sashi Ghosal told me it was time to update this column. And, of course, he was right. As I am sure we all experience, time seems to move by very quickly. I cannot believe four months of my term as President has already flown by.

I am sure we are all glad that February has come to a close - too many snow storms wreaking havoc with our schedule of events. I want to thank all of you for your patience with our rescheduling of the February chapter meeting, especially our speaker Lee Lambert, his team and our Programs and Logistics teams. Although I could not attend due to a prior commitment, I understand the rescheduled meeting was terrific. And, of course, due to the blizzard we had to also cancel the February Breakfast meeting.

“Building Bridges” is the 2009 guiding slogan for the PMI New York City Chapter. The economy continues to give us challenges. PMI Corporate recently cited that there was only 4% of its membership unemployed. At the June Chapter meeting, we held a straw poll. Among 194 respondents, 37% were not concerned with unemployment over the next 12 months, even though the current unemployment rate is at 19%.
