Coaching for Mentors
Robert Russo, is founder and owner of Executive Game Changers. He is a certified executive coach. Bob has more than 30 years of experience working for IBM. He began his career as a software developer and advanced to the position of Executive Program Manager. During his 30-year career, he assisted many of his IT colleagues to make successful transitions from technical specialists to managers.
After retirement from IBM, Bob began full-time work as an executive coach. He works with professionals who have been promoted to management and executive positions and are looking to sharpen their leadership skills. Bob helps unlock each client's potential and uncover their unique talents. Together Bob and his clients develop a stepwise plan to achieve each client's goals. Bob guides the client to successful completion of all steps. Bob will help the client recognize and surmount roadblocks standing in the way of their success. Clients regularly comment that Bob is easy to talk to and readily wins their trust. Bob empowers his client to reach their full potential and to develop the skills necessary to achieve thier goals.
What Will You Learn?
The significance of coaching as it relates to project management mentoring. Emphasis will be placed on the foundation of effective coaching, covering relationship building, communication strategies, understanding mentees' needs, and coaching tips.

- Understanding the unique needs and goals of project management mentees
- How to listen to your mentees to help guide them

This workshop was designed with PMINYC mentors in mind. Coaching is a critical role for effective mentors but is also required in any leadership role so all are welcome.
