Future City Competition Judge - In Person
Calling All Engineers, Technical Professionals, Urban Planners, PM Professionals, Architects, STEM Professionals, and Future Difference-Makers to make a meaningful impact on young students' lives and support the next generation of innovators and professionals.
Ten In-Person Judges are needed for the upcoming DiscoverE Future City® Competition

Judges are a vital part of Future City and serving in this capacity is fun and rewarding. Judges score
team deliverables, provide feedback, and help determine the overall winners. In-Person judging
will occur on January 18 th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the following location:
- Columbia Secondary School: 425 West 123rd Street, New York, NY
As a judge, you'll play a vital role in evaluating student projects and selecting winners at the NYC
event. You will:
-Review student essays, project plans, and models.
-Assess students' grasp of engineering principles and their ability to apply them to real-world issues.
-Provide invaluable feedback and encouragement to young STEM enthusiasts.
-Participate in person or virtually, depending on your preference.
The Future City® Competition is for students in grades 6–8 who are interested in STEM. The challenge for the 2025 competition is to design a floating city and explain how it will keep its citizens safe and healthy. Students can participate from their school, a homeschool environment, or a youth organization. More than 60,000 students annually in the US, Canada, China, and Nigeria.
