AGILE - Business Analysis for Proj. Mgrs in the Agile World
Business Analysis for Project Managers in the Agile World
Why Project Managers Need Business Analysis in a Product-Centered World
Overview
The evolution from project to product-centered initiatives is much of what it means to embrace agile. As custodians of the product, it is business analysts’ tools, techniques, knowledge, and skills that are most utilized in adaptive environments. While project managers are often working in those environments, their understanding of business analysis is often shallow, compromising their ability to add value.
In this presentation, the role of the business analyst is explored as it compares to the role of the project manager. Project managers will recognize where the lines between their BA and PM work are often blurred and how clarity can help their projects. PMs will learn why it’s essential to know what BAs do and how to increase awareness as to when they are filling the role of BA. PMs will appreciate how they can be better in their PM role by better understanding the BA role – regardless of approach.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, you will be able to…
- Recognize the business analysis work you already do
- Understand the role of the PM in the context of BA work
- Identify how a more thorough understanding of business analysis makes project managers better in their PM role in traditional and agile environments
