 Event Synopsis:

In October 2023, PMI announced the acquisition of the “PMO Global Alliance”, signaling the strategic importance of PMO’s in the world of project management. This announcement has triggered a flurry of discussion around “The Next Generation PMO”, the skills that are being projected as a need within PMOs, and the services that PMOs will be requested to provide in the future. We’ve all heard the chatter around AI, agility, change management, and transformation. In this session, Michelle will share the latest thoughts from the global PMO thought leader community, and facilitate a discussion with session participants to share their experiences from across the NYC region.

Bio

Michelle Venezia’s varied professional background spans the healthcare, IT technology, medical device, and defense industries. She has overseen the successful startup of several PMOs, and has led global teams in the United States, Europe and Asia. Michelle is excited to be joining BAE Systems in February 2024 as the Senior Director for the Enterprise Shared Services PMO. She holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from SUNY Buffalo, an MBA from Penn State University. A graduate of PMI’s 2019 Leadership Institute Master Class, she has served as a PMI volunteer at the global and local levels, including as a member of the PMI Rochester chapter board from 2013-2019, where she served as Chapter President. She is currently a member of the development team for the next Portfolio Management Standard, as well as the global PMO Insight Team.
