Publicolor

Ways of Working

Publicolor is a long-term youth development program that engages high-risk underserved NYC youth in their education through a multi-day, multi-year continuum of programs that mentor them for success in college, career, and life. This year 100% graduated high school on time vs. 86% of their peers. 100% went on to college vs. 60% of their peers. Environment makes a HUGE difference in students’ academic performance. Please join us to paint alongside our Publicolor students.

As a professional, you can informally mentor them by talking about your education and career. This dialogue introduces youngsters to a much wider variety of job options than ever imagined and encourages them to stay in school. Engagement in this type of high-level conversation is a greater indicator of academic success than family income. If you are a student volunteer then you can connect through the shared experience of service, painting, dialogue and transformation. Take this opportunity to learn about each other and the great work that can be accomplished through partnership and collaboration.

PMINYC is lookng for 13 volunteers.
