The PMO Flywheel in Action: Building PMOs That Prove Their Value
PMOs rarely fail because of bad templates or missing tools. They fail because they lose the connection between what they do and what the business actually needs. In this interactive session, Bruno Freitas introduces the PMO Global Alliance community and its resources, gives an overview of the PMI PMO Certified Practitioner (PMI-PMOCP) credential, and walks through the PMO Flywheel, a practical framework for designing PMOs around the value they deliver. Bruno will share real-world stories from his own PMO implementations, including what worked, what did not, and the hard lessons in between. Attendees will leave with a clear picture of how to assess their own PMO against the Flywheel, concrete first steps to strengthen the link between their PMO services and stakeholder value, and pointers to the PMOGA resources and community spaces where they can keep the conversation going.
Speaker Bio
Bruno Freitas is a PMO Ambassador with the PMOGA North America Hub and a longtime contributor to the global PMO community. A former Regional Community Outreach Lead for the Hub, he has facilitated PMO Practice Guide study groups, judged the PMI PMO Awards, and spoken at PMI chapter and community events across North America and Brazil. Bruno brings more than 20 years of experience leading PMOs and portfolios exceeding $100M across financial services, technology, and public services, including executive roles at Manulife, AIMCo, and Canadian Western Bank. He holds the PMP, PMI-PMOCP, and many other PMI credentials. He is also the founder of PMO Evolution, where he continues his hands-on PMO work and shares practical PMO insights regularly on LinkedIn and through his PMO Pulse newsletter.
