PMINYC September Chapter Meeting
From Projects To Impact: Leveraging Lean Startup To Scale With Confidence
Scaling isn’t about doing more. It’s about learning faster, pivoting smarter, and delivering stronger outcomes.
This session reframes project leadership from delivering outputs to driving measurable business and customer outcomes. Using lean startup principles, teams can prototype, pivot, and pitch their way to validated solutions, testing assumptions earlier, reducing wasted effort, and scaling with far more confidence.
We’ll bring this approach to life with AI and collaborative whiteboarding, showing how teams can synthesize insights quickly, map customer journeys, generate solution options, test hypotheses, and align stakeholders around the highest value opportunities. Along the way, we’ll explore how project leaders can build the culture, psychological safety, cross-functional learning, and an experimenting mindset, that makes this way of working stick beyond a single project. Walk away with a more adaptive, outcome focused approach that helps you move faster, learn smarter, and deliver impact that lasts.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Explain the shift from managing project execution to driving measurable business and customer value, and why this shift matters as teams scale.
- Apply the prototype, pivot, and pitch framework to test assumptions early, adapt based on real data, and avoid over-investing before validating a solution.
- Use AI tools and collaborative whiteboarding to run design thinking exercises, such as Crazy 8s and customer journey mapping, that surface real user needs quickly.
- Pitch validated learnings and early engagement data to stakeholders, treating them like investors, to secure resources and scale with confidence.
- Identify practical ways to build a culture of experimentation and psychological safety on their teams, including cross-functional learning loops and upskilling, so scaling becomes a team habit rather than a one-time project effort.
