Mentoring Workshop - Cross-Difference Mentoring
Webinar - Details will be sent to registrants after registration and prior to webinar.
What You Will Learn
This workshop will feature a discussion with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City (BBBS-NYC) on how mentoring across differences (age, sex, gender, race, culture, different abilities, etc.) can provide a more fulfilling experience for both mentors and mentees.
Leaders from BBBS-NYC and a panel of "Bigs" (as their mentors are called) will share methods for preparing yourself, breaking the ice, creating rapport, and building a successful mentoring partnership - with anyone, from any background. This will be a highly participative discussion, so please bring your questions and experiences.
Speakers
Our panel of speakers will be led by Aaron Frager, BBBS-NYC’s Associate Director of Volunteer Recruitment & Outreach. The panel will also include two volunteer Bigs and BBBS-NYC’s director of training.
