Data Management Best Practices (Practicing Data Management Better)

Day(s):                          Monday

Meeting Date(s):        11/04/2024

          Start Time:                  12:00 PM

End Time:                    01:00 PM

Poor data skills will increase costs; steal increasing amounts of time; deliver less and present greater risk. It's important to develop defensive skills to differentiate between good and bad data.

A solid "Data Program" will:
   - Promote best practices by using a Data Maturity Model (DMM) and a Body of Knowledge
(DMBOK) - and applying them together.
   - Establish a foundation of data practices to measure & improve their capabilities, including:
          • Data Governance
          • Data Quality
          • Data Management Strategy
          • Data Platform / Architecture
          • Data Operations
The maturity of the organization is based on the highest level that ALL of the components have reached. In fact, this foundation should be established before investing in technology. This webinar will provide an overview of these components.

Learning Outcomes:

     • Understand foundational reference and master data management (MDM) concepts
based on the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK).
     • Understand why these are an important component of your Data Architecture.
     • Gain awareness of Reference and MDM Frameworks and building blocks.
     • Know what MDM guiding principles consist of and best practices.
     • Know how to utilize reference and MDM in support of business strategy.
